For those who are serious about joining the footwear industry and need the knowledge and portfolio to get their foot in the door. This course will suit students of any level.

Over this 10-day luxury footwear course, the students will design, make and present a collection of 3 – 4 pairs of shoes. Students are expected to make 1 pair of mandatory high heel court shoes within the first 2 days to experience basic shoe making techniques. After this time the students will spend the remaining 8 days designing and making their collection.

Students will document the process of their collection from mood boarding through to finished products, these images will be used to put together a portfolio of work, which will be printed and presented to each student on the final day. We know what people in the industry are looking for, which is why we will prepare your portfolio for you, using your images, your information and your finished products. A digital version will also be prepared for each student, which they can use to apply for and secure work in the footwear industry online.

There is also be an element of theory in this course, ensuring students know how the industry works, including correct terminology, design and pattern cutting, materials, choosing the best leathers for your design, factory procedures and sampling. Students will be awarded a certificate as well as a letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the course.  Both invaluable references when applying for work in the high fashion footwear industry.
