What to expect:
Since 2010, we've been running our iconic 3-Day Shoemaking Workshop, teaching thousands of students how to craft their own shoes from scratch. With years of experience and a 5-star reputation, we’ve perfected our process—so whether you’re a total beginner or looking to refine your skills, you’ll be in expert hands.
Hosted in East London, this hands-on workshop is creative, practical, and designed to give you real shoemaking skills that go beyond just one pair of shoes. Plus, with small class sizes, you’ll get plenty of one-on-one time with our expert tutor.
At the end of three days, you’ll walk away with a pair of handcrafted shoes—made by you, for you. Whether you’re here for the experience or to kickstart a new hobby, this is the perfect way to step into the world of shoemaking.
The highlights:
Learn how to make a shoe
Over the course of 3-days, you will craft your very own pair of shoes from scratch. You will learn the iconic 'I Can Make Shoes' technique which you can then continue and build on from home.
Choose from 15 styles
Select your shoemaking project from our diverse selection of 15 styles. The course is thoughtfully structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of the shoemaking process.
Expert guidance
We ensure that our 3-day shoemaking courses maintain small class sizes, guaranteeing personalised attention and dedicated 1-to-1 time with our expert instructor(s).
Workshop structure:
Our workshops run for 3 consecutive days from 10am to 4pm, with a 1-hour lunch break.
Day 1
On Day 1, we will introduce you to the world of shoemaking components and materials. You will pick your leathers and colours from our selection, cut your pieces, and learn the art of closing - the process of sewing your uppers together.
Day 2
On Day 2, you will mould and shape the uppers into shoes, and see your creation take form as your skills progress. This is called the lasting process.
Day 3
On the final day of the workshop, you will add the finishing touches to your shoes. You will learn to attach soles, heels, and refine every intricate detail before trying them on.
What shoes will you make?
Below is a list of styles we offer on our workshop. You'll have the chance to make one pair during this 3-day workshop. All of our styles are unisex and are available in a wide range of sizes.
Although you will be able to choose from a wide range of leathers and colours, we are unable to accommodate changes or tweaks to our below designs.
Flats
Size Range: EU 34 - 44 / UK 1 - 11 / US 4 - 14 Heel Height: 1.5 cm / 0.5 inch.
Choose from one of our flat styles: ballerina pump, mary-jane, slingback, slider sandal, loafer, loafer slider, ankle-strap sandal, or classic derby. Made using our signature I Can Make Shoes almond toe lasts.
Mid-Heels
Size Range: EU 34 - 44 / UK 1 - 11 / US 4 - 14 Heel Height: 6 cm / 2.5 inches.
Our most popular heel height! Make a pair of mid-heel court shoes, mary-janes, loafers, mules or sandals on our signature I Can Make Shoes almond-toe lasts and our sturdy block heel.
High-Heels
