Kate from our team made these stunning green mid heel boots in our pistachio green lizard effect leather 💚
I LOVEEEE a pair of boots but always feel a bit restricted when it comes to summer because... well... they’re not reallyyyy a summer shoe. But I think this green colour makes them look SOO much more summery 🤩 So now I can be a boots girly all year long 😉
Here's a quick little video on how they came together 👇
Kate followed the 'Zip-Up Boot' Tutorial in my Online Course to make these boots.
Here's a run through of how a boot comes together:

Step 1 - Make your bespoke pattern based on your own measurements.
Step 2 - I always recommend making a mock-up out of some scrap leather first so that you can check these measurements from your pattern are correct.

Step 3 - Once you're happy with your mock-up, you can go ahead and make your final boot pattern.
Step 4 - Begin stitching the upper together, including stitching in your zip.

Step 5 - Finish sewing your upper together. This may look confusing here but everything is broken down into small simple steps in the Online Course.
Step 6 - This is how your upper should look once everything is stitched together.

Step 7 - Tape your shanked insoles onto your last to begin the lasting process.
Step 8 - Last your lining layer over your last and glue to the underneath of your insole using water-based shoemaking glue.

Step 9 - Insert your toe puff stiffeners and counter stiffeners between your lining and upper layer to help the boot maintain its shape.
Step 10 - Last your upper layer over the last and glue to the base of the insole with water-based shoemaking glue. Trim any excess.

Step 11 - Cut and attach your resin sole onto your boot using solvent-based shoemaking glue. Make sure to leave space for your heel to be drilled in.
Step 12 - Cover your block heel with the same leather as your upper. Then drill and screw this heel in place.

Step 13 - Create a comfy padded insock with a foam sheet and your lining leather.
Step 14 - Enjoy your brand new handmade boots!
