Making a pair of classic loafers is easier than you'd think 😉
In my Online Shoemaking Course, I teach you step-by-step how to make this beautiful pair of brown loafers with this very Gucci inspired horse bit on the front 🌟
To get a taste of what this tutorial is like, watch our walk-through below ⬇️
You can also watch below to see how to attach horse bits to your loafers ⬇️
To make your own loafers, you will need:
• Loafer Shoemaking Pattern - this is included for FREE in the Online Course but you can purchase it separately if not enrolled.
• Flat Shoemaking Lasts - you can use these for multiple flat shoemaking projects!
• Pre-Made Flat Soles or Resin Soling and Texon Board - our pre-made soles give an amazing finish to the shoes! They also come with pre-cut insoles. If you prefer to make your own insoles and soles (or if you've built up your shoemaking last for a wider fit) you will need to grab some resin soling for the soles and texon board for your insoles.
• Toe Puff and Counter Stiffeners - these hold the shape of the shoe once the last is removed.
• Your chosen leather or material - you will need leather/material for both your lining and your upper.
• (optional) Horse Bit - I added these gold horse bits to the front of my loafers to give them a kinda Gucci look, but this is totally optional!
These are the main components you'll need for making your loafers. You will also need some basic shoemaking tools such as:
• Water-Based Glue and Solvent-Based Glue
• Scissors / Craft Knife / Safety Beveler
• Heat Gun
